The International Day of Happiness (3/20)…an important note for next Wednesday
Our mindfulness partner, Inner Explorer (in partnership with LG), will be hosting a fundraising event in the World Trade Center in New York City. Event proceeds will be used to provide mindfulness to students in Paradise, CA, to support students in dealing with the aftermath of the traumatic Campfire fire. As our way of participating, we will be joining in by filming students dancing on Weds. 3/20 and posting the video to our school’s social media sites. It could get picked up by Inner Explorer and LG to be shown on the big screen in Times Square. If you give permission for your child to participate and be filmed, please print, fill out and return this release form to me on Weds. morning.
The kids may have already told you that one of our academic coaches, Josh, has left us to move on to an incredible internship opportunity. We miss him but wish him all possible happiness in his new endeavor! I couldn’t be happier to welcome Isaiah (a long-time Connect staffer) to our morning workshops. We are blessed to have him in the mornings, along with the amazing Skyler in the afternoons.
I’ve been remiss in posting photos and videos but just uploaded a bunch. Sometimes it is hard to remember to snap pics because I’m busy with the kids😊
On Mondays, March 18 & 25, and April 1 from 12:30 – 2:00. If you’d like to join, sign up here: Paddle Tennis

The Voyagers are collecting Hygiene Kits
They’ve been gathering a large pile of Hygiene Kits as well as individual supplies to assemble into kits. Wednesday is the last day They will be collecting. All supplies will be given to MEND Poverty who will disperse them to those in need in LA. Quote from Jennifer: “ I am so proud of our students and the way their project is making a difference for homeless men, women, and children.”
Reminder: Please submit your child’s Exhibition Topic on this form. See your email for more info. Don’t forget…Exhibition is on Weds., April 10th, 5:00-6:30pm.
Poetry Jam on March 27th, 3:30 – 5:00
This annual DV Connect event is an amazing opportunity for students to read and share poetry, including both poems they’ve written and poems written by others, in an intimate setting with the ambiance of a French Café. This is, hands-down, my favorite all-school event. Here’s the link to sign up: Poetry Jam. I’ll send out some resources soon, to support you in writing poetry at home. This would be a great topic for a Monday Co-Op, if someone is interested in leading (I can help…let me know).
