A few of you have asked how Ethel is doing. She is resting at home and the babies are developing well. It will likely be a few more weeks before they arrive and Dave will send us pictures when they do.
I have attached two examples of artworks students may see during their visit. In honor of El Segundo's 100th birthday, ELSEGUNDISSIMO features original artworks and proposals created by local and international artists in response to ideas and suggestions crowdsourced from people who live and work in El Segundo.
The image of sea glass created by Shana and Vincent Alpino was inspired by a trip to Dockweiler Beach where the artists discovered sea glass. They thought it would be cool to create a giant sea glass sculpture that would attract visitors day or night!
The second image of a curved building on El Segundo Blvd. was created by a local architecture firm, Baumgartner + Uriu.
These artworks do not exist yet, but they might some day!
