I love intersections of events! With it being Women's History Month and the Poetry Jam happening on March 27th, I love this article I found: Studying Female Poets to Understand History. It is chock-full of great suggestions and has links to some great poetry.
If you haven't already done so, you might check out our podcasts page! I've just started adding podcasts for parents, in addition to those already posted for kids.
Excellent diverse book recommendations at every level, from Edutopia.
Excellent research-based article. Recommended reading.
Why You Should Prioritize Meaning in Your Everyday Life
Apologies for not sending out a recap on Wednesday about workshops. We worked right up to the last minute on our Odyssey projects and just didn’t have time to blog together. This will likely continue for at least the next few weeks. Everyone is very motivated to make progress on their “Leonardo’s Workshop” tasks and wants to squeeze in every possible work minute. Here are the highlights:
Parent and/or Student-Led Coops
Several students and parents have indicated interest in leading a co-op, either a one-time workshop or a short series. Here is your chance to offer something fun for the whole group. On Mondays, from 2:30-4:00, our Home Base will be available for you (and I will be here for support). Please sign up here to lead a session. After sessions are scheduled, I will send out a sign up for attendance at each one.
Breaking News! Our first session has been scheduled. Many thanks to Marissa, mom of JM, who will be offering an Oil Pastels workshop on Monday, March 18th, 2:30-4:00 in the Makerspace. Keep your eyes open for a SignUpGenius invite with a description of the workshop. The kids have been asking for art workshops, so I know this will be a hit.
