Self-Care for the Homeschooling Parent with Michelle Charfen, MD – Weds., March 1st, 7:00-8:30pm.
In this workshop we will discuss challenges that parents face as homeschoolers and explore strategies for developing a practice of self-care and self-compassion. It is my intention that by the end of this interactive seminar parents are able to see how supporting themselves more effectively will in turn lead to more joy, connection and fulfillment in their relationships with their children. See Michelle’s bio at the end of this letter. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d44ada729a13-anevening Remember: I am offering childcare in the makerspace so that parents can attendJ

Hold the Date! We will have another field trip to ESMoA on May 10th. I’ll send out a sign-up in the next few weeks.
Workshops last Thursday were a hoot! Students worked in pairs to build model dwellings from earth materials in the makerspace. We led a Kindness flash mob at the beginning of lunchtime play (see attached pics). They explored a variety of coding apps during the Hour of Code 2.0 and worked on their computer-aided designs to wrap up the day. Here is a link to the video (not editedJ) we made 2 weeks ago about kindness: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bze5ezgZZswpOEh4Ym9LM2VzRjQ/view?usp=drivesdk
